Your Brain Is Amazing!

POSITIVE!!! 💛

Do something new. Do something you never thought you could do.

After my brain injury, I learned about brain plasticity—the brain’s ability to heal, change, and adapt over time. I am now 9 (today 17 years) years into this journey, and I can tell you… it is real.

I do have challenges with executive functioning. That can affect decision-making, planning, and understanding outcomes. Sometimes I still need help from my spouse for important decisions—and that’s okay.

But here’s what’s also true:

I have grown.

I have created over 2,000 pieces of jewelry and other art media each one different. I cannot repeat design.

I have redesigned my photography.

I’ve learned pewter and metal embossing.

I’ve even started leather work sometimes

Resin designs here and there; these are custom designs.

I have seat out in cafes and designed fashion jewelry many times in Europe

I never thought I could do any of this.

Your brain is AMAZING. Truly amazing.

You have to work it—like a muscle. Even on the hard days.

There is so much information out there now, but not all of it truly helps patients. What does help is persistence, support, and believing that improvement is possible.

I share my story not just for the brain injury community—but for everyone. People are often afraid of brain and spinal injuries. But with proper care, healing and growth can happen.

Yes, there are extreme cases. I hold those individuals in my prayers daily. But for many of us—there is hope, progress, and purpose.

Keep going. Thank you for reading. Go to my Podcast of Youtbe and enjoy my adventures I call my life
